Fausto Masnada triumphs on Stage 3

With the Italian nearly two minutes down on the GC leaders, an onlooking group of nine riders did not give chase when he broke clear with 1.4 kilometres remaining.

Stage one winner Tao Geoghegan Hart (Team Sky) won the battle behind for second, with Rafal Majka (Bora-hansgrohe) finishing third.

Pavel Sivakov (Team Sky) was marked across the line by Jan Hirt (Astana) as the pair stayed at the top of the overall classification. Sivakov leads his rival by eight seconds.
