Stuart O'Grady (AUS / Cofidis) -- New green jersey
"After I won on Thursday [Stage 5] I said I wanted to start a new Tour de France and that seems to have happened."
"Benefiting from a crash that took out my rival, Robbie McEwen, and a lot of other riders is not the best way of taking the green jersey but there's nothing I can do about it and I'm just happy to have it."
Tom Boonen (BEL / Quick Step) -- Stage winner
"There's Cipollini and Petacchi but I definitely think I'm in the top two or top three sprinters in the world."
"It's a shame that [Petacchi and Cipollini] are not here any more. But I don't think Alessandro was the great Petacchi on this Tour."
"I came on the Tour to learn, acquire experience and win a stage. That's in the bag..."
Lance Armstrong (USA / US Postal) -- 34th on stage
"[In the finish] they had the barriers really tight and there were 200 guys racing through there at 40 miles an hour, so I don't know what the hell they were thinking."
"You're always going to get crashes when it's like that."
