Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) will have a pack of super-domestiques in his corner as he bids to topple Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and win a third Tour de France crown.
Giro d'Italia champion Simon Yates, nine-time Tour stage winner Wout van Aert, 2023 Vuelta a Espana winner Sepp Kuss and two-time Paris-Nice winner Matteo Jorgenson will all ride for the Dane in France.
Former Hour Record holder Victor Campenaerts, 2018 Strade Bianche champion Tiesj Benoot and Grand Tour stage winner Edoardo Affini complete the stacked octet.
"With these eight very strong riders, we believe in the plan we made for the Tour de France. From day one, we will have to be there as a team to optimally assist Jonas in the GC," said Visma head of racing Grischa Niermann.
"In addition, there will be opportunities for several riders to go for stage wins. We are very deliberately focused on ourselves and our own plan. We have an optimal preparation behind us and with that, we think we can get the best possible result."
The Tour starts in Lille on Saturday, July 5, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Vingegaard appeared to be the unstoppable Grand Tour force after back-to-back victories at the Tour in 2022 and 2023, but a hard crash at the Itzulia Basque Country in April 2024 derailed his hopes of a three-peat.
Although he recovered to make the start line last year, he was comfortably second best as Pogacar romped to a third title by over six minutes.
The battle is expected to be much closer in 2025. Pogacar may have won the warm-up at the Criterium du Dauphine, beating Vingegaard by 59 seconds in the eight-stage race, but the Tour profile looks to favour the Dane.
The race returns to the Col de la Loze in the final week, the scene of a rare crack from Pogacar at the 2023 race.
