Olympics Rio 2016: Armitstead fed up with 'procedural' wedding planning

She talked to OK! Magazine about her forthcoming wedding to fiance Philip Deignan.

“I’m quite un-traditional. The important thing is that I’m marrying Phil and that my friends and family have a good time,” she said.

“I find weddings too procedural sometimes. I just want a big, fun party.”

Her words about bureaucracy were ironic bearing in mind her recent issues with drug testing - she failed to keep the testers fully up-to-date with her whereabouts, meaning she missed three tests in the space of a year.

She won silver in the road race at London 2012, but finished only fifth in Rio.
