"My last race in France, my last World Cup race, there's a pang in my heart," the popular Frenchman told l'Equipe. "I'm happy to retire, but it takes getting used to."
This year after surprising everyone with his second straight King of the Mountain jersey in the Tour de France, the CSC-Tiscali rider won the Classica San Sebastian.
Jalabert will lead the French team in Zolder next week. His supporting cast will include his brother Nicolas, also of the CSC team.
