Mathieu van der Poel will look to defend his Paris-Roubaix title on Sunday after losing out to Tadej Pogacar at the Tour of Flanders. The Dutchman was hoping to secure an unprecedented fourth win but Pogacar produced a sensational performance to claim victory. The Slovenian is now set to make his debut in the 'Hell of the North' this Sunday but who else will be taking to the cobbles?

Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) is set to make his debut at the 122nd Paris-Roubaix on Sunday following his victory at the Tour of Flanders last weekend.

The Slovenian claimed his second Flanders title after victory in 2023, as he got the better of Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck), denying the Dutchman an unprecedented fourth title at the Belgian race.

Van der Poel will be looking to make amends this weekend, as he attempts to defend his title at the third Monument of the season.

But who will be joining the pair for the 259km one-day race often described as the 'Queen of the Classics' or 'Hell of the North'?

Who is riding Paris-Roubaix 2025?

UAE announced last month Pogacar would be making his debut at the race.

"It was initially planned for Tadej Pogacar to participate in both the E3 Saxo Classic and Gent-Wevelgem," read a statement from the team.

"However, after discussions with the team, it has been decided that he will adjust his calendar to focus on the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix instead, aiming for peak form in those iconic races."

Meanwhile, Pogacar said on Wednesday: "Paris-Roubaix is a completely different race, it’s new territory, but I fully accept the challenge.

"I’ll try to do my best. We have a very strong team for this race, with guys who have lots of experience and we can use this to our advantage.

"It will be a very hard race but I think with the shape I have now that this is the right moment to give it a try at least. We had a great battle last weekend at Flanders and I hope we can put on a good show again this Sunday."
