There was a moment of unexpected drama at the 2025 Liege-Bastogne-Liege as a civilian vehicle appeared on the road just in front of the breakaway, before it was hurriedly ushered away by a marshal. TNT Sports commentators Rob Hatch and Magnus Backstedt were left astounded by the situation. "How on earth has that happened?" asked Hatch. "Not what we want at all."

Cyclists and spectators were left stunned as a civilian car pulled out onto the road in front of the breakaway during the 2025 Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
The marshals were quick to make the driver of the car aware of the situation, forcing them to pull over on the side of the road to avoid any disruption to the race.
But it was certainly an alarming moment for the cyclists and race organisers.
"What's happening there? I don't like that," said Rob Hatch on TNT Sports commentary. "Someone's ordered an Uber or something and they've decided they should be in the race.
"Deary me, thankfully there's a marshal telling the car to get off the race. Not what we want at all. How on earth has that happened?"
"And the danger now is that it's still another minute-and-a-half before the peloton comes," added Magnus Backstedt. "That car is possibly going to decide that they need to get to the shops before they close."
