It's Grand Tour season and the fight for the maglia rosa is underway. The Giro d'Italia takes centre stage in May as some of the world's top all-rounders battle to be pretty in pink.
With defending champion and serial winner Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates-XRG) focusing on the Spring Classics and the Tour de France, the door is wide open for other stars to seize a Grand Tour victory.
Former champion Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) was the pre-race favourite, while UAE duo Adam Yates and Juan Ayuso are also eyeing the pink jersey.
Adam's twin, Simon Yates (Visma-Lease a Bike), is in contention, as is fellow Brit Tom Pidcock following Q36.5 Pro Cycling's wildcard entry.
Past winners Jai Hindley (Red Bull) and Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) add further depth to the field.
But it is not just about the GC contenders. Sprinters have ample opportunities, especially in the opening two weeks, with Wout van Aert (Visma), Olav Kooij (Visma) and Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck) poised to chase stage wins.
So how can you watch the Giro d'Italia? And what's the schedule for each stage?

Giro d'Italia route

For the first time, the Giro d'Italia started in Albania. The opening three stages took place exclusively on the Balkan Peninsula, including a stint in the capital Tirana.
Upon entering Italy, the race moved through the southern regions, including Naples, before pressing on north.
Key Italian cities along the route include Pisa and Siena, with the latter hosting a stage reminiscent of Strade Bianche, featuring gravel sectors on white Tuscan roads.

But it's the final week when the fight for pink will likely be settled. The race ventures into the Alps, tackling iconic climbs including Monte Grappa, Mortirolo and Colle delle Finestre as the big-hitters look to shake things up, before the grand finale in Rome.
