Team GB’s mixed team wheelchair curlers continued their disappointing outing at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Paralympics on Wednesday with a 9-4 defeat to China.
The team’s chances of reaching the knockout stages had gone following their loss to hosts Italy on Tuesday.
And the comprehensive defeat they sustained at the hands of China was their sixth in seven matches at the Winter Games.
Team GB did keep it close against the two-time defending champions through the first five ends but it unravelled towards the end.
In the seventh end, China stole three, which ended the game in rapid fashion and condemned Team GB to another defeat.
Despite the results, Stewart Pimblett spoke emotionally about what the experience meant to him and his team-mates.

"I’m emotional, but I feel proud," Pimblett – who was making his Winter Paralympics debut in Italy – told the official Team GB website.
"It is a bit heartbreaking. I am proud of what the team and I have done here because we have gone hit-for-hit with the best teams in the world, and we just haven’t got over the line.
"We are a raw team, we are new. I love the sport, I love what we have been doing, and we have got great team spirit. Able-bodied people who are watching have to realise what we are doing. Not just my team, but the whole of wheelchair curling, we are trying to be so precise.
"Able-bodied [players] have the luxury of sweeping, if we had Hammy McMillan and Bobby Lammie sweeping that last stone, it is a different game."

It has been a disappointing outing for the team made up of Pimblett, Hugh Nibloe, Karen Aspey, Austin McKenzie and Graeme Stewart.
Through their seven games, they sit bottom of the 10-team round-robin standings. They have two games remaining, facing Latvia later on Wednesday and Norway on Thursday.
"The last two games, we are going to look to win them and try and end on a bit of a high," Nibloe said.
"It would be great if we could string a whole team performance together because we are not a million miles away, so it would be good to try and finish with two wins, and that would be a fairer reflection of how we have played."
