Teichmann - who is not even expected to travel to Italy - refused to comment on where the operation had taken place.
"I just want my peace and quiet now," said the disappointed 26-year-old.
Behle said the problem had got worse and had required surgery.
"It had swollen up and up, and they had to cut it, and now the cut has to heal," he said.
The German becomes the third casualty of Behle's squad following Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle's five-day exclusion due to an abnormally high red blood cell count on Friday.
Teichmann's replacement for Sunday, inexperienced 21-year-old Franz Goering was also forced out of the 30km race on Sunday with a cold.
"He started to get ill this morning, with a throat problem," Behle said. "However, it's not so serious so we are hoping he will be better by Sunday."
