The 2014 Winter Olympic gold medallist only qualified down in sixth, but then sped to victory in both her quarter and semi-finals before doing the business in the final.
She completed the course in 2:32.35, 1.66 seconds clear of closest rival Stina Nilsson of Sweden, with Falla's compatriot Mari Eide completing the podium 2.84s back.
Competition continues in Austria, with Falla looking to add team sprint and 4x5km relay titles to her trophy cabinet.
