England will be without Jofra Archer this summer due to injury. The pace bowler has been ruled out of the Ashes series against Australia due to a recurrence of a stress fracture to his right elbow. Jimmy Anderson has been included in England's squad to face Ireland while Jonny Bairstow returns as wicketkeeper-batter and there's no space for Ben Foakes.

England bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of this summer’s Ashes series after a recurrence of a stress fracture to his right elbow.
Archer, 28, has not played a Test match since February 2021 due to a succession of injuries.
He returned home early from the Indian Premier League last week and will now spend time working on his recovery with the England and Sussex medical teams.
“It has been a frustrating and upsetting period for Jofra Archer,” said ECB managing director Rob Key.
“He was making good progress until a recurrence of the elbow injury, which kept him out for an extended period previously. We wish him the best of luck with his recovery.
"I’m sure we will see Jofra back to his best and winning games for England, whatever the format. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.”
The news comes as England announce their 15-man squad for their Test match against Ireland on June 1.
The bowling options also include Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes, Ollie Robinson, Matthew Potts and Mark Wood.
Wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow returns after recovering from a broken leg.
He will take the gloves from Ben Foakes, who has been left out of the squad altogether.
Surrey’s Ollie Pope has been officially confirmed as England’s vice-captain.
"We are looking forward to the summer ahead and getting into the swing of things, starting with a good test against Ireland,” added Key.
“It was a seriously tough decision to leave Ben Foakes out of the squad. He has been excellent for England in the last year, but Jonny Bairstow is one of the best players in the world whose performances last summer epitomised what we are about.
"I would like to wish the players every success, especially those returning after some time away."
The match against Ireland is England's last preparation for the Ashes series against Australia, which starts on June 16.
England squad to face Ireland: Ben Stokes (Durham captain), James Anderson (Lancashire), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Harry Brook (Yorkshire), Zak Crawley (Kent), Ben Duckett (Nottinghamshire), Dan Lawrence (Essex), Jack Leach (Somerset), Ollie Pope (Surrey), Matthew Potts (Durham), Ollie Robinson (Sussex), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham).
