Tom Hartley produced a stunning seven-wicket haul as England sealed a famous victory over India in the first Test in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The fourth day’s play went England’s way right from the start, as they batted through the first session, with Ollie Pope’s sensational 196 pulling England back into the Test, steering them to 420 all out.
And wickets fell in clusters throughout the final two sessions as India crumbled in their attempted chase of 231 to win.
India's tail did wag to get them close, but they were bowled out for 202 as an inspired Hartley and a remarkable run out from Ben Stokes earned England an historic triumph.
Hartley finished with extraordinary figures of 7-62 on his Test debut, and England’s 28-run win means they are the first team ever to win a Test in India having trailed by 190 or more after the first innings.

India started brightly in search of their target of 231, putting on 42 in an opening stand that gave the home crowd plenty of confidence.
But Hartley struck twice in three balls to change the course of the innings, with Pope taking both catches under the helmet with two sublime pieces of close-fielding.
Pope first held on to a flick by Yashasvi Jaiswal (15), and followed it up with an even better effort to hold on to a thick edge from Shubman Gill (0).
And Hartley bagged his third wicket of the day when he got the prized scalp of India captain Rohit Sharma, trapping him lbw for 39.

India were still the favourites with 136 runs to get and seven wickets in hand as they returned to the middle for the final session. But England produced an inspired display in the fading light in Hyderabad to pull off a remarkable win.
KL Rahul and Axar Patel, promoted to No. 5, looked set to put India in control, only for Root and Harley to prise them out.
And Stokes produced a moment of pure magic to run out Ravindra Jadeja and ensure the momentum was all with England.
It looked like India were going to rescue the match when KS Bharat and Ravichandran Ashwin put together a 57-run partnership to ensure both results were still on the cards late in the day.
But a beautiful piece of bowling removed Bharat for 28, with England taking the extra half hour to win it in the gloom.
And the final two wickets both fell to stumpings by Ben Foakes, as first Ashwin and then Mohammed Siraj charged past Hartley deliveries to leave the left-armer with figures of 7-62 on his Test debut.

England add 104 runs in morning session

England had resumed at the start of the day’s play on 316-6, and they managed to add 104 runs in an entertaining morning session, with Pope continuing his terrific innings to help England set a challenging target.
Pope built decent partnerships with first Rehan Ahmed (28) and then Tom Hartley (34) as India struggled for inspiration.
But three wickets fell in a flurry at the end of the session, as Hartley and Mark Wood (0) fell in quick succession. And the magnificent Pope was the last man to go for 196, going on the attack with a hobbling Jack Leach at the other end and falling four runs short of his double hundred.
Pope’s inspired innings left India with a target of 231 with five sessions left in the match, and gave England’s bowlers something to work with having overcome a sizeable first-innings deficit.
And those runs proved crucial in the end as England delivered one of the all-time great comeback wins to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
