11:47 - Sharma and Kohli inspire India to victory
India struck back to beat Australia by nine wickets in Sydney thanks to an unassailable 168-run partnership between legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Australia had already won the One-Day International series against India following two consecutive wins, but a heavy defeat at the SCG took the gloss off their success.
After winning the toss and electing to bat the hosts were confident as skipper Mitch Marsh (41) and Travis Head (29) built an opening partnership of 57.
However, wickets started to tumble as Washington Sundar (2-44) and Harshit Rana (4-39) dismantled the middle order.
Only Matt Renshaw was able to add a half-century for the hosts and once he was out, by LBW from Sundar, the bottom order were skittled out for 236 in the 47th over.
India were always comfortably ahead of the required run-rate thanks to an opening wicket stand of 68 before skipper Shubman Gill was caught.
Up stepped Kohli and he was greeted by a heroes reception, despite back-to-back ducks in the previous two ODIs against Australia.
The experienced pairing picked apart the Australian attack as Sharma reached an unbeaten 121 from 125 balls, while Kohli finished on 74.
The pair were rarely in trouble as they reached the target with 69 balls remaining.

11:28 - ‘Game shows you everything,’ says Kohli
After back-to-back ducks in the previous day ODI internationals against Australia, Kohli said that the game had "showed him everything".
"I got the two duck out of the pond," said Kohli. "You score so many runs in international cricket, but then the game shows you everything, even at this stage.
"I’m almost, 37 in not many days, and still I can feel like don't know how to get a run.
"I mean this game is amazing, that’s why we love batting, we love batsmanship. It's so challenging when it's not going your way to just find your rhythm again.
"Having a situation to play always brings out the best in me."
11:23 - Sharma responds to victory
Rohit Sharma has spoken about his 33rd ODI century after guiding India to victory against Australia.
"I've always loved coming here," said Sharma. "I enjoy playing cricket here in Australia.
"I don't know if we'll be coming back to Australia, but it was fun all these years that we've played here.
"A lot of good memories, bad memories, but all in all, I'll take the cricket that I’ve played here.
"We enjoy our cricket, most importantly, no matter what accolades we have achieve.
"It's important that whenever you get an opportunity to play, you've got to come and start fresh.
"That's what we did when we arrived, forget what has happened in the last 15, 17 years, I wanted to start fresh, and that's how I personally look at all the games that I have played."

Singles with the first two balls of the 39th over brings India close to victory. A clever hit over the top from Kohli reaches the boundary for four to complete the victory. India win by nine wickets with 69 balls remaining.

Another beautifully timed shot from Sharma over square-leg as he sweeps the ball for six. He repeats the shot moments later but this time it drops short for four.

Sharma slices one in the air which looked a certain catch. However, Hazlewood arrives late and hurts his finger after diving and dropping the ball.
Kohli punishes his opponents by completing the over with a four off his pads.

Sharma is given an open invitation by Short to swipe one towards the boundary. The ball drops just on the boundary and four is awarded.

Australia bring players in to put pressure on Sharma getting his century. However, it is simple for Sharma as he hits his 33rd ODI century.

Another sweep shot from Sharma flies over the boundary as he charges towards a century. The Indian pair have enjoyed batting against Connolly this evening.
Kohli adds a four of his own from the final ball of the 32nd over.

Zampa is denied his maiden over of the match by a Sharma single. Moments later a swinging ball is missed by Kohli but just wide of the stumps.

Ellis comes under fire from Kohli who swings on his foot and steers the effort to the boundary. He tries to do the game again, but this time a covering fielder stops it going for four.

The formidable pairing of Sharma and Kohli march with four extra runs from the 25th over. Nothing to challenge the Indian duo and their side are in command of this game.

Ellis feels that Kohli is out and calls for LBW. The on-field decision is not out and Hawk-Eye shows that over half of the ball was missing the wickets.
Kohli fights on and then slaps one deep into the field for another single. India are given a further boost after a no ball results in a free hit and two additional runs.

Australia need to some magic from Zampa following his four wickets in Adelaide. Australia are covering the boundary and trying to tempt their opponents into big hits.
However, both Sharma and Kohli are being patient. Sharma eventually sweeps one off the edge of his bat and out to the boundary.

Short is the seventh player to bowl for Australia in these innings. Only Hazlewood has had success. India keep the score board ticking with a run from each ball of the over.

India’s run-rate is currently six an over so Sharma and Kohli are in no hurry. Kohli is content with picking off comfortable singles. Sharma does likewise to bring about his half-century.

The star is in town. Kohli receives a standing ovation as he makes his way out to the crease. The stadium then erupts as he gets off the mark with a single.

Australia turn to spin and Connolly in a bid to try and change momentum in this game. However, the pitch isn’t giving much spin and India continue their momentum.
Gill finishes power play in style with a sweeping effort which flies over the boundary for six.
India 58-0 (Sharma 30, Gill 15) Target: 237, Overs bowled: 9
This time Sharma takes Hazlewood to the cleaners with a lifted shot towards long-on. The Indian fans are really enjoying themselves.
Gill joins in on the act sending a punchy shot down to the ground and over the fielder for four. A costly Hazlewood over of 10 runs.

Sharma is having some joy from Ellis and his first delivery results in two runs. Four leg byes follow despite Ellis’ appeals for LBW.
With the fielders drawn in during power play Sharma lofts the ball over the top. His effort drops before the boundary but is a comfortable four.

Hazlewood with another tight over. The fast-medium bowler has conceded just three runs in three overs.

A change in bowler as Ellis comes to the crease. His leg-side ball skids low and away past the wicket-keeper for four.
A repeat of the same ball sees Gill flick it around the corner and to the boundary again. Some nice fielding from Head stops a third boundary of the over.
Ellis has had a poor first over which has cost Australia 13 runs.

Gill hits the opening delivery of the fifth over well but the field is equal to it and just one run is scored.
Starc concedes a wide before Sharma picks off the bad ball again and sends it flying to the boundary.

Hazlewood’s bowl hits a crack in the surface and flies high over Sharma. The pitch is becoming rather unpredictable.

Hazlewood is next to the crease for the home side. A miss-field from Ellis allow Gill to get off the mark. A tight opening over for Hazelwood who only concedes one run from the over.

Starc opens the Australian attack and bowls towards Rohit Sharma. Support from the home fans for the bowler who gets some swing.
However, Sharma then picks out the boundary after an over-pitched third ball, a warning to his opponent. Five dot balls in the opening over for Starc.

Sundar is bowling the 35th over, as India need to try and control this late Australia surge with wickets in hand.

Iyer has been taken off injured after hurting his hip and shoulder when hanging on to that catch.

A 50-run partnership from Renshaw and Carey from 60 deliveries has put Australia in a good position.

Short drives one back down the wicket for a single and Patel seems to have hurt his wrist in the process of diving for the ball.

Yadav is back in the bowling attack. Short strikes the second ball towards the boundary where Rana and Sundar get into a tangle, resulting in the ball getting stuck under Sundar whose foot is on the rope and a four is awarded.

Short takes an opening single before Marsh finds a gap in the field to guide a slow ball for a boundary.
Krishna stops the ball going for another four off the final ball of the owner, but Australia take two.

Axar Patel is put into the Indian bowling attack for the first time today. Marsh lashes a ball into the covers but Virat Kohli fails to handle the pace and drops the ball.
There is some conversation after Marsh takes the third ball to his chest, but the ball is heading over the wicket. Hawk-eye suggests the ball was hitting the stumps, but India decide not to review.

Siraj keeps the 12th over tight as the visitors try and stem the flow of runs. Short hits a powerful single.
Short completed the over with a nice pull shot which is rewarded by two runs.

Kuldeep Yadav comes into the bowling attack for India. A few quick and easy singles for Australia.

It’s almost disaster for Australia as a mix-up in communication sees both batters stuck in the middle. However, India fail to hit the stumps as Short dives back towards his wicket.
A glorious chance is missed by Indian captain Shubman Gill.

Siraj starts his second spell bowling at Head and is smashed for four with a controlled drive. In the his second ball Head steers the ball to Krishna at backward point.
Head is out for 29.
Australia 57-0 (Marsh 25, Head 25) Overs bowled: 9
After being hit all over during his opening over Krishna tries to be more controlled in his second. He concedes runs from the first three balls of the over. A more solid over from Krishna.
Australia 54-0 (Marsh 24, Head 23) Overs bowled: 8
Rana concedes a four early in the eighth over as Marsh evades a diving fielder. Australia continue to build their innings with two singles. Marsh then chips one over the head of Rana for four after predicting the Indian bowler’s ball.
Australia 42-0 (Marsh 15, Head 22) Overs bowled: 7
Prasidh Krishna enters the bowling attack for India and is hit for six by Marsh from his opening ball of the match.
A leg bye from the next ball, before Head steers the ball high and despite dropping short of the boundary it goes for four.
Head scurries for a single to mark his 3,000th run in international ODI cricket and gives a little fist pump. Marsh concludes an expensive over with a single.
Australia 31-0 (Marsh 7, Head 17) Overs bowled: 6
Head is starting to build some momentum as he swipes another four from Rana, after a leg bye the previous ball. Rana claims LBW from the fifth ball, but it was always swinging away from the wicket.
Australia 26-0 (Marsh 6, Head 13) Overs bowled: 5
Head starts the fifth over with another boundary from Siraj. After a brilliant start to the game India are starting to concede runs.
Siraj tempts Head into a second drive but the ball just evades the Australian. Head salvages a disappointing over by finding a gap in the field to hit a four.
Australia 18-0 (Marsh 6, Head 5) Overs bowled: 4
Rana is back in the Indian bowling attack and starts with a wide and then dot ball. Marsh takes a heavy ball to his finger after the ball kicks up high off the dry surface.
The following ball also skims off the surface, just past Marsh and over the wicket before going out for four leg byes.
A nice cover drive from Marsh concludes the fourth over.
Australia 9-0 (Marsh 2, Head 5) Overs bowled: 3
Another leg-by early in the third over from the bowling of Siraj. Head gets off the mark with a quick run as India continue their tight bowling.
Eventually, Marsh tries to swipe for the boundary but is only rewarded with a single. Head follows his lead and does guide the ball out for four in the final ball of the over.
Australia 2-0 (Marsh 1, Head 0) Overs bowled: 2
Harshit Rana enters the game in the Indian bowling attack at Head. More tight bowling from India who are trying to make Australia force the early pace.
The fifth ball hits Head’s leg and they change strike Australia with a quick leg-by. Head takes advantage on the final ball of the over to take a quick run.
Australia 0-0 (Marsh 0, Head 0) Overs bowled: 1
Siraj gets the game underway at the SCG in the opening over. The Indian bowler fails to release his first ball after aborting his run-up. Jeers on the third ball as Marsh takes a swipe at the ball but misses on the dry pitch.
Indian have made two changes from the second ODI with Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna coming in for Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep Singh.
The first over is a maiden by Siraj as Australia are in no hurry to get going.

Play is just about to get underway in Sydney. Australia have won the toss and elected to bat with Mitch Marsh and Travis Head.

Adam Zampa's four-wicket haul and Cooper Connolly's unbeaten 61 helped guide Australia to a two-wicket win over India, giving them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the One Day International series.
Zampa was supported well by Xavier Bartlett as they halted India's middle over momentum after Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer both scored fifties.
India set a total of 264-9 which was reached with over three overs by the hosts.
