Manny Pacquiao to wear £1.5 million shorts in mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather
Manny Pacquiao will don the most expensive shorts in history as he takes on Floyd Mayweather in their superfight on May 2.
Advertising space on the Filipino star's shorts has been sold off for an extraordinary £1.5 million, according to reports in Pacquiao's homeland.
Six different companies have already bought advertising space on Pacquiao's shorts.
It is just the latest extraordinary number to emerge from the fight of the century so far, with the two biggest names in the sport going head-to-head in Las Vegas after almost a decade of avoiding each other in the ring.
The two fighters' camps are said to be earning a combined £200 million from the bout next month, with Pacquiao personally guaranteed £50m and Mayweather £80m.
The excess stretches even to Mayweather's mouthguard, a bizarre, see-through creation that will be stuffed with real $100 bills and said to be worth nearly £20,000.

On this latest evidence, Mayweather appears to have missed a trick. Surely he could have sold off the advertising space in his mouth, so that every time he smiled for the cameras he'd also be putting a smile on the face of his bank manager?
