Ahead of Anthony Joshua’s IBF heavyweight world title fight against Daniel Dubois at Wembley, Liam Gallagher rocked the national stadium in front of 96,000 fans with a trio of iconic Oasis hits.
Oasis recently announced that the rock band would make a sensational comeback next year with Gallagher, alongside brother Noel, set to reunite for the first time since 2009.
Frontman Liam produced a thrilling solo performance under the Wembley arch ahead of Joshua’s blockbuster fight against Dubois on Saturday, his first appearance since the band announced they would be getting back together in August.
The Manchester-born artist gave fans a taste of what is to come next summer on their highly anticipated 2025 tour - of which four shows will take place at Wembley - and performed three of their much-loved anthems.
Gallagher sang three songs from the band’s hugely popular 1994 album ‘Definitely Maybe’, which included an electric rendition of ‘Rock n' Roll Star’, as well as singles ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’.
The performance warmed fans up nicely for the main event, which saw Dubois claim a stunning knockout victory over Joshua, live on TNT Sports Box Office.
Gallagher’s performance followed an exciting undercard, which began with Mark Chamberlain falling to a shock defeat to Josh Padley and Josh Kelly taking a majority decision win over Ishmael Davis, before Anthony Cacace defeated Josh Warrington.
As the night edged closer to the main event and the atmosphere grew inside the iconic arena, Joshua Buatsi became the new WBO interim light heavyweight champion after a split-decision victory over Willy Hutchinson.
Hamzah Sheeraz also claimed a second-round stoppage win over Tyler Denny for the European middleweight title.
