Jarrell Miller: I 'need' Anthony Joshua fight, Daniel Dubois will KO and retire AJ in heavyweight title rematch

Jarrell Miller has warned Anthony Joshua that a rematch with Daniel Dubois could prove fatal to the 35-year-old's career, and will go the same way as the first fight. Dubois emphatically stopped Joshua in their IBF heavyweight title showdown at Wembley Stadium in September, and Miller, who was slated to fight Joshua in 2019, is eager to finally get his match-up with the Brit.

Jarrell Miller has predicted that an Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois rematch will go the same way as the first fight, and that another damaging loss could be the end for the former.
Dubois decisively knocked out Joshua in five rounds in their IBF heavyweight title fight at Wembley Stadium in September.
Following the fight, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed the 35-year-old has a rematch clause, and a second fight is reportedly being slated for a February card in Saudi Arabia.
Miller, who was slated to fight Joshua in 2019 before a failed drug test saw Andy Ruiz step in as a late-notice replacement, warned that a rematch would be a huge risk for Joshua.
“Same outcome,” Miller told Boxing Scene when asked his thoughts on a rematch. “AJ’s’ still getting knocked the f*** out.
“I think it definitely does [end his career], but he’s big money – they’re gonna keep milking the cow until there’s no more milk left. Hopefully me and him can get it on before he gets retired.

“Dubois blitzed him. He didn’t think Dubois was that fast, and we all know that AJ don’t got a chin.
“Instead of waiting for him to run out of gas and get out of rhythm, ‘let me jump on your a** now’, and that’s what Dubois did.“
After replacing Miller to fight Joshua, Ruiz unexpectedly beat the Brit and handed him the first loss of his career.
Ruiz and Miller fought to a majority draw in August, and the ever-brash American is still itching to get his fight with Joshua.
“I need that fight first,” Miller said. “One more loss and he call it quits. One more bad loss – he’s made enough money already.
“I give everybody the recipe to beating AJ already – he ain’t got no chin; he ain’t got no heart. Put balls in his face, he gonna quit. The same thing’s gonna happen again.
“AJ, you gotta fight me before you retire, you punk b****.”

Dubois is no doubt eager to fight heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk, who he lost to in Poland in 2023, but a rematch with Joshua stands in the way and potentially a clash with WBO interim champion Joseph Parker.
If Miller had his way, however, he would be next up for Dubois after being stopped by the 27-year-old in late 2023.
“I want my rematch with Dubois. I had a month [to prepare] for that fight; almost had him out of there. I told everybody AJ was going to crack, and that’s what happened.
“He impressed me very well. He hanged in there. His dad [Dave], definitely, was a motivating factor in that fight. But like I said, he fought an out-of-shape, last-minute, ‘Big Baby’.
“He definitely impressed me [against Joshua]. He’s improving every fight, so the one after – Dubois ain’t going to be the same Dubois when I fight him again. Trust me. He ain’t gonna beat the Big Baby.”
