'Robbed' - Eddie Hearn unhappy with judges' scorecards as Artur Beterbiev crowned as undisputed light-heavyweight champ

Eddie Hearn saw his fighter Dmitry Bivol beaten by a majority decision on Saturday night, and Artur Beterbiev emerged victorious as the undisputed light-heavyweight champion in Riyadh. Speaking to TNT Sports, Hearn hit out at the scorecards, and received plenty of sympathy from fellow promoter Frank Warren, who also thought that Bivol had done enough to win.

Dmitry Bivol’s promoter Eddie Hearn claimed his fighter was “robbed” by the judges’ scorecards in Riyadh against Artur Beterbiev.
Beterbiev came away as the undisputed light-heavyweight champion, the first of the four-belt era in the division.
One judge had the fight scored as a draw, while two cards, one of 116-112 and the other of 115-113, gave the win to Beterbiev.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Hearn was unhappy with the decision and seemed convinced that Bivol had done enough to earn the victory.
He said: “I don’t want to disrespect Artur Beterbiev, [he and Dmitry Bivol are] two of the greatest fighters of our generation.
“You saw the body language, they were in the corner, they knew they lost the fight. 116-112 to Artur Beterbiev, four rounds they gave Bivol.

“That was a joke. That was a 7-5, 8-4 fight to Dmitry Bivol. He was cruising the fight, he gave up some rounds towards the end of the fight. They knew, the body language, ‘You have to knock him out to win the fight!’”
He added: “Of course. He was robbed of the undisputed championship tonight. They can't believe they’ve got away with this tonight.”
Alongside him, fellow promoter Frank Warren sympathised with his dissatisfaction, and said he thought much the same as Hearn.
He offered: “He deserves a rematch. If I was in that position, I’d be upset too. I felt Bivol won it by a couple of rounds.”
