Carl Frampton retains title with brutal win
Carl Frampton retained his IBF super-bantamweight title with a devastating defeat of Chris Avalos.
Frampton put on a fantastic display in his home city of Dublin, battering his opponent until the stoppage in the fifth round.
The win extends Frampton’s record to 20 wins from 20 fights, 14 by KO.
Californian Avalos came into the bout with only two defeats in 25 but was thoroughly outclassed by Frampton, who wants Scott Quigg next.
“I want a quick fight in the summer,” he said. “That’s a score I’ve got to settle.”
