Martin Fourcade leads the way at biathlon in Canmore

France’s Martin Fourcade led the way in the men' sprint at the biathlon World Cup in Canmore, Canada, with a clean-shooting 23:51.5 victory.

Anton Shipulin of Russia and Germany’s Simon Schempp also shot clean before coming second and third respectively.
Schempp crossed the finish line first before Fourcade went 18.7 seconds faster and then Shipulin secured second place, 15.7 behind the leader.
Fourcade said: “I was a bit nervous; I was not satisfied with my shooting this week during training and today, I had some problems zeroing.
“But I was confident on my skis; I was clean and fast enough to win, so I am happy.
"I really like this place; it is very friendly and I love the atmosphere with the teams and the local people. If we are truly an international sport, we need to come to places like this out of Europe."
Austria then secured the next three places through Julian Eberhard, Dominik Landertinger and Simon Eder.
