Fourcade dominated proceedings on Saturday, leading from wire to wire, with only Johannes Thingnes Boe, who finished second in the 20k on Thursday, deemed capable of beating him.
But the young Norwegian received two penalties on the shooting range, taking away his chances of a podium finish.
