Fourcade back to winning ways in Norway

Overall leader Martin Fourcade got back to winning ways in the IBU Biathlon World Cup on Saturday with victory in the 12.5km pursuit in Oslo-Holmenkollen.

The Frenchman claimed his first World Cup victory since January 21st and his seventh of the season to strengthen his lead in the charge for what would be his seventh Crystal Globe.

Triple Olympic champion in Pyeongchang, Fourcade had gone three World Cup races without a win either side of the Games, including a third-place finish in Friday's sprint.

But he was too strong on the snow and at the range to cruise to victory in Norway.

Fourcade finished 18.1 seconds clear of Italy's Lukas Hofer, who was second, while Johannes Thingnes Boe was third 32.5 seconds back.

The Norwegian is Fourcade's nearest rival in the overall standings and now sits on 947 points, 49 behind Fourcade on 996.
