Grizzlies sack coach

Assistant Johnny Davis will serve as the interim coach while a replacement is sought, according to TNT.

Milwaukee Bucks assistant and former Grizzlies coach Lionel Harris is expected to be named Iavaroni's successor.

Memphis were off to an 11-30 start this year. Since taking over the position in May 2007, Iavaroni finished with a 33-90 record.

The team has showed little improvement this season despite having high draft choices the last couple of years, including talented rookie guard O.J. Mayo.

The Grizzlies have lost seven consecutive games.
