June 30 (The Sports Xchange) - The Utah Jazz have agreed to acquire point guard Ricky Rubio from the Minnesota Timberwolves for a first-round pick in the 2018 draft, multiple outlets reported on Friday.

The two teams reportedly have been in trade talks for over two weeks. The pick is top-14 protected.

The New Orleans Pelicans are expected to retain point guard Jrue Holiday with a big-money contract once the NBA free agency period begins at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.
Holiday is expected to receive a five-year offer from the club for approximately $170 million in a meeting scheduled right as free agency begins.

The Chicago Bulls waived Rajon Rondo, ending the point guard's stint with the team after one season.
Rondo had a team option worth nearly $13.4 million that would have become fully guaranteed if Chicago hadn't waived him by Friday. He will instead receive $3 million by being released.
