Galatasaray sign 9-year-old with cerebral palsy for Eurocup game

Little Yusuf is a huge fan of the basketball team, but his cerebral palsy means that he will never have the chance to play professional basketball.

But Galatasaray made his dream come true, signing him to an official one-day contract ahead of the Eurocup match against Pınar Karsiyaka on Tuesday, with the players crowding round him on the court before the match to make him feel one of the squad.

Club general manager Ömer Yalçınkaya explained that Galatasaray is taking part in the "One life, thousand hopes" program as part of the Euroleague, an initiative which aims to help young children with cerebral palsy overcome the barriers they face in their everyday lives.

Yusuf might only get one day as an official Galatasaray player, but it's a day he'll never forget - and to make things even better, Galatasaray destroyed Pinar 93-65 to earn passage to the quarter-finals.
