Towler and Nottingham claim impressive Orleans International title
BySportsbeat
Harley Towler declared himself a satisfied man after he and men's doubles partner Matthew Nottingham cruised to the Orleans International men's doubles title in superb fashion.
The unseeded duo, who won the Irish Open in November, did not drop a game during the blistering run to the final in France.
And they maintained that form in the gold medal match, beating world number 21 outfit and top seeds Adam Cwalina and Przemyslaw Wacha of Poland 21-12, 21-18.
They took just 33 minutes to wrap up the win and afterwards Towler tweeted: "It was a great performance and a really pleasing win."
Their win made up for earlier disappointment for England after second seeds Heather Olver and Lauren Smith lost to Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva of Bulgaria 22-20, 16-21, 21-9 in the women's doubles final.
