The ever-improving Dobriskey finished fourth at this year's Olympics in Beijing and is determined to go better when the Games come to Britain in four years' time.
However, first dad Mike will be helping to build the facilities in the Olympic Park at Stratford - and his daughter will hope to add the finishing touches.
The Kent-born athlete explained: "It's a dream come true that London won the bid.
"London's got so many connections for me - my mum grew up in the east end and so did my grandparents, although they've now passed on.
"Now my dad is working in the 2012 construction.
"It will just be amazing to be part of it, hopefully."
Speaking after returning to the capital for the Olympic heroes' parade, Dobriskey admitted she could not believe the reception she and her fellow athletes had received.
"It was brilliant. I couldn't believe how many people came out to watch - it was just amazing."
A trip to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen followed but Dobriskey admitted: "I was rather star-struck when I saw her.
"It all went so quickly, the introduction, but she was very friendly and it was really nice to meet her."
Dobriskey is about to begin her winter training programme in Loughborough with coach George Gandy as she builds towards next summer's World Championships in Berlin - and eventually 2012.
She is also due to meet the new head coach of UK Athletics, Charles van Commenee, who took up his position last month.
"I'm looking forward to seeing what he will bring to UK Athletics," added Dobriskey.
"But I'm part of a fantastic set-up (in Loughborough) so I don't know if anything will affect me directly. I will just have to see how it works out."
