The diminutive Dibaba was untouchable in the final straightaway, sprinting to a 39-second gap between herself and runner-up Adere.
The 2005 season has been a gold mine for Dibaba, the Ethiopian winning both the long- and short-course cross-country titles.
She is also the defending world champion in the 5,000 metres, setting up the possibility of an unprecedented 5,000-10,000 metre double at the world championships.
Dibaba's countrywoman Miruts Yifter did do the double at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, but the feat has never been reached at a world championships.
RADCLIFFE ROASTED
Briton's Paula Radcliffe policed the women's 10,000-metre field for half of the race, staking a claim at the front lines of the pack before bogging backwards and eventually finishing a disappointing ninth.
The world marathon record holder had been attempting a 10,000 metre, marathon double in Helsinki, a leg-searing bargain she tried -- and failed -- to reach at the Athens Olympics last year.
Head bobbing and eyes wild, Radcliffe ratcheted back to the shoulders of the race's leaders with three laps to go, but was dusted no-contest by the winning Ethiopian trio in the finale.
