Marco Odermatt ticked one of the few remaining boxes on his CV by landing a maiden FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup downhill victory in Wengen.
The Swiss superstar had previously occupied the podium 11 times in the discipline without winning but delivered a masterclass on the prestigious track in front of his home supporters.
Odermatt stopped the clock in 1:43.32, enough to put him 0.58 seconds clear of France's Cyprien Sarrazin, who took silver, with Aleksander Aamodt Kilde in third.
"To cross the finish line after Kilde, with eight-tenths ahead, it was a good run, the feeling was perfect," he said. "I took a lot of risk and it worked out, so I knew it was going to be difficult to beat.
"It was a similar feeling to Bormio, but that wasn't enough against Sarrazin. So I was a bit nervous when he skied. He was fast again."
Odermatt now leads the overall standings in downhill, super-G and giant slalom heading into a busy weekend at Wengen, with the 26-year-old set to be in action in Friday's super-G and Saturday's downhill.
"My confidence couldn't be better, material is working perfect, and I'm ready for the two difficult races," he added.
