Sofia Goggia claimed her first super-G Crystal Globe on Sunday with a stunning performance in Lillehammer, Norway.
The Italian came into the final super-G race of the season with a 63-point lead over Alice Robinson of New Zealand, knowing a strong outing would wrap up the season-long title.
Goggia left nothing to doubt as the fourth competitor of the day, skiing aggressively and logging the fastest time of 1:29.23.
And try as they might, none of her competitors could surpass her as she finished first overall with a 0.32 second lead over second-placed Corinne Suter.
Her first-place finish clinched her third super-G race of the season and wrapped up her first super-G Crystal Globe, awarded for the most points over the 2025-26 skiing season.
As Goggia sat in the first-placed seat and her victory was secured, the emotion of the moment appeared to catch up with her, as she broke into tears.

"Those last few days were really mentally exhausting," Goggia told TNT Sports afterwards. "I felt like I was really [tense] and I got some doubts in my mind which is the best place you can every get into or the worst one you can live with.
"So I was really just focused on my super-G today, not thinking about the cup. And when I crossed the finish line and I saw it was a green light, I think I lost 100 kilos. It was an emotional wait."
She added that weight of the moment added to nerves she felt beforehand.
"Today, I was really, really nervous. There were two or three parts of the course which you have to be strategic and I was really afraid to make a mistake there," she said.
Goggia, 33, has four Crystal Globes to her name in the downhill skiing already, but this is her first in the super-G discipline.
"If you want to be a complete skier, you have to get both the downhill globe and the super-G globe, and today I finally made it. And I’m really, really happy," Goggia said.
Goggia’s success capped off an excellent ski season for the Italian women’s contingent, after Laura Pirovano’s surprise Crystal Globe in the downhill format and Federica Brignone's double Olympic gold.
Goggia’s explanation for their good form was simple, saying it was ”because we are Italians.”

The Milano Cortina 2026 bronze medallist has twice finished third in the overall Crystal Globe standings - awarded to the racer with the most points across all disciplines.
Goggia currently sits in fourth in the overall standings, some way off the leader, Mikaela Shiffrin.

Shiffrin holds a slender 45-point lead over Emma Aicher, with the American only able to finish 22nd in Lillehammer while Aicher clocked in fourth.
With the slalom and giant slalom to come later this week in Lillehammer, Shiffrin still has an opportunity to claim what would be a record-equalling sixth overall Crystal Globe.
But Aicher is in excellent form too and will be a formidable opponent, having finished second behind Pirovano in the downhill season and twice podiuming in the slalom.
If Shiffrin was to win her sixth overall Crystal Globe, she would equal the women's all-time record set by Austrian legend Annemarie Moser-Proll.
