Nagelsmann considers Juve switch

Former Germany and Bayern Munich manager Nagelsmann may join Juventus as Manchester United persist with Michael Carrick.
Carrick’s United lost 2-0 to Chelsea on Saturday, intensifying the pressure on the head coach.
However, Juve are keen on bringing Nagelsmann to Serie A, meaning United could miss out.
The Sun explains: ”Manchester United target Julian Nagelsmann might not be available for much longer following a reported approach from Juventus.
”If The Red Devils opt to replace under-fire manager Michael Carrick, they might not be able to turn to the German.
”According to Italian reporter Rudy Galletti, Juve have contacted Nagelsmann to add him to their list of potential candidates, if they replace current boss Luciano Spalletti.
”The report said the ex-Germany gaffer is weighing up several options and appreciated the approach.”

Man Utd to stick with Carrick

United’s hierarchy may continue with Carrick at least until the upcoming international break.
He will be given the next two matches in charge, against AS Roma and Aston Villa, despite the loss to Chelsea.
While Carrick appeared close to the edge in the defeat to Bournemouth, he nevertheless has been kept in place.
The Evening Standard writes: ”Manchester United have decided not to sack Michael Carrick following their defeat by Chelsea.
”The Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by The Blues on another dark day at Stamford Bridge, taking their winless run to nine matches in all competitions.
”Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer got the goals as Lisandro Martinez was sent off for two bookable offences in west London as further pressure piled on the under-fire United head coach.
”Now, however, it appears that he will be retained in-post for the club’s next two matches, up to the November international break.
”As such, it meant that Carrick avoided what had seemed like an inevitable sack after the 3-0 thrashing against Bournemouth at Old Trafford, where the former midfielder looked as though he was waving goodbye to the home supporters.”

Newcastle considered Hackney move

Newcastle failed to follow up on their interest in Hackney in the summer.
Because Eddie Howe’s future was uncertain at St James’ Park, Hackney ultimately plumped for Everton.
The Newcastle Chronicle explains: ”Newcastle definitely pondered long and hard on the possibility of signing the Teessider in the last two years with several scouting missions up and down the country to keep tabs on the midfielder.
”But despite it becoming clear that Hackney was for sale last May, after Middlesbrough failed to win promotion, Newcastle's managerial uncertainty had a bearing on The Magpies failing to make their move. Hackney was believed to be on Andy Howe's list and had a recommendation from ex-chief scout Steve Nickson.
”However, with Eddie Howe indicating he was having second thoughts on staying on as boss, Hackney's representatives moved down the line with clubs who'd shown their hand. The list contained Tottenham, Leeds, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Brentford but Hackney picked Everton after speaking to David Moyes and putting pen to paper on a £24m deal.”

Endo and Chiesa to leave

Chiesa and Endo are both expected to leave Anfield.
The Liverpool Echo believes players like Lewis Koumas and Trey Nyoni have emerged as longer-term options for Andoni Iraoli.
Endo is likely to leave in January or next summer, when his contract expires, while Chiesa’s deal runs until 2028.
The paper states: ”The writing is very much on the wall for Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo at Liverpool. The pair had never been more than bit-part players under former head coach Arne Slot, but their involvement had dwindled even further under new boss Andoni Iraola.
”With Chiesa also suffering an injury in pre-season, the pair are, at the very least, the victims of having to play catch-up to impress their new boss with the likes of Koumas and Nyoni grabbing their own opportunities at the expense of their more senior team-mates.
”In contrast, Endo will certainly leave The Reds in 2027. He is out of contract next summer with the only uncertainty being whether he departs in January or sees out his deal and leaves on a free transfer.
”Chiesa’s situation is a little bit more complicated. The Italy international is under contract at Anfield until 2028 and continues to be linked with a return to his homeland.”
