Man Utd line up January transfers
Tyrick Mitchell, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Adrien Truffert are all linked with Manchester United by the Mirror as they look for reinforcements at left-back.
The paper also mentions two potential forward candidates: Leeds United’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Crystal Palace attacker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The paper explains: "The team sits 16th in the Premier League, having gone eight matches without a win. Already the plan for the season is being torn up, with club chiefs looking for a new manager while also pondering transfers in January.
"Mitchell should be on the United recruitment department's radar for two reasons: he has plenty of Premier League experience and has a contract with Crystal Palace which is due to expire in June.
"United have been linked with Ait-Nouri before and it would appear to be a good solution for all parties, if the club rivalry can be put to one side. However, the fact he still has over three years left to run on his [Manchester] City contract and moved for £31 million in 2025 could complicate things.
"While Mitchell's contract is running down and Ait-Nouri wants to move for more football, Truffert is happy at Bournemouth, who thrashed United 3-0 last weekend.

"Club chiefs have reportedly identified Leeds' Calvert-Lewin as a target. The former Everton centre-forward has impressed in Daniel Farke's side, scoring five times this season to add to his 15 strikes in his debut campaign.
"The 29-year-old is understood to be open to joining United in January, but his injury record is a consideration.
"Mateta has only played four times, scoring once, this season due to a hamstring issue and would appear to be only a short-term solution if he were to move to United."
Ratcliffe takeover date hinted
Ratcliffe could launch a takeover for the rest of Manchester United’s shares, according to the Manchester Evening News.
There is also a possibility that the Glazer family could orchestrate the sale of the club to a third party, which would force Ratcliffe to sell his stake at the same time.
Speculation for now is focused on the future of head coach Michael Carrick.
The paper reports: "The Glazers could face a potential Manchester United takeover bid from Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos in the second half of 2029, with the club's latest financial arrangements offering a major hint over when a change in majority ownership could take place. Ratcliffe purchased a 25% stake in United as part of a deal worth approximately £1.2 billion in 2024, with his Ineos group taking responsibility for overseeing football operations.
"The British billionaire also pledged an additional £245m in investment, bringing his total financial commitment to around £1.5bn. However, the Glazer family remain majority owners and retain significant control over any potential sale of the club.
"Under the terms of their 2024 agreement with Ratcliffe, the Americans can force him to sell his stake, which has since increased to approximately 28%, if they agree to sell United to a third party under certain conditions. The Glazers previously valued United at around $6bn (£4.5bn) when exploring a potential sale, although the club's ongoing financial difficulties have raised questions about whether that valuation remains realistic.
"United's recent £411m refinancing deal has provided an indication of when Ineos could look to increase its stake and potentially take majority control from the Glazers. The agreement suggests that 2029 could be a significant year for the club's ownership, with United potentially able to repay existing debts more easily while raising funds for their proposed 100,000-seater stadium."
Estevao wants Chelsea stay
Estevao may be struggling to break into the first team under Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso, but he would prefer to remain at the club.
The Sun reports that the Brazilian is concerned that he will be a reserve at the club, but will work hard to persuade his current coach of his worth.
Chelsea next play Manchester United in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off live with TNT Sports on HBO Max.
The Sun reveals: "Chelsea starlet Estevao is ‘suffering’ and does not understand why he has been shunted into the Stamford Bridge sidelines.
"The youngster has told close friends he feels he is in a Chelsea ‘crisis’ that has left him ‘really disappointed’ and that ‘he does not want to become a reserve’.
"Nevertheless, Estevao has insisted to his closest pals that he will do everything to prove the manager wrong – despite suggestions that major European teams might make a loan move in January if the situation does not change.
"The friend added: ‘Estevao will not give up and he does not want to run away. Despite all the talk about Barcelona and interest from other clubs, leaving Chelsea is not what he wants.’"
Glasner safe at Forest
Despite an indifferent start at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest are set to back their manager Glasner.
A midfielder is wanted after they failed to land Everton’s Harrison Armstrong and Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Bergvall - though they may try again for the latter in January.
Another goalkeeper could also be added this winter, too.
The i Paper claims: "Glasner has said he is happy with his squad and rejected [Evangelos] Marinakis’ offers of more signings, but Forest still want another midfielder after missing out on Armstrong and Spurs’ Lucas Bergvall. Interest in Bergvall could be revived if a deal becomes possible, and a third name remains on the shortlist. A goalkeeper to challenge Matz Sels is also possible.
"But after a summer 2025 window in which they believe they did too much, only players who clearly improve the squad will be considered."
