Man Utd face Gabriel blow
Manchester United might lose JJ Gabriel for a transfer fee of just £350,000.
The 16-year-old asked to leave United last month and his decision has led to weeks of speculation over his future.
If he were to move abroad - and he has been linked to Real Madrid - he would go for a heavily reduced compensation sum.
The Sun explains: ”Manchester United could reportedly lose academy superstar JJ Gabriel for as little as £350,000 if he were to move abroad.
”Gabriel stunned United officials last month by announcing that he wanted to leave the club with immediate effect.
”Some of the biggest clubs in Europe have been linked with a move for him, but Man Utd are determined to keep their prospect.
”Premier League youth rules state that he would have been able to leave for a rival for nothing in January if not offered a formal scholarship deal following his 16th birthday.
”At a tribunal, United would expect to receive in excess of £3 million along with a clause in the deal granting the club 20% of his next transfer fee.
"Despite the scholarship offer, it remains unlikely that Gabriel will stay at United.
"It’s believed he favours a move to a European club, meaning The Red Devils could get as little as £350,000 in compensation.
"Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested."
Everton up for sale
Everton owners The Friedkin Group have announced they are prepared to sell the club.
The owners of the Premier League side own French team Cannes, but with plans to start an NHL franchise in Houston, they may be looking to raise funds.
The Mirror explains: ”Everton have been put up for sale by their owners The Friedkin Group less than two years after completing their takeover of the club. However, they are only open to parting ways with the club if they are convinced the new owner is the right person or group to take the team 'to the next level'.
”The Toffees owners were already looking for investment but are prepared to exit the club should the right buyer emerge. The Friedkin Group intend to continue to support the club, and are happy to remain on Merseyside until a suitable successor appears.
”The Everton investors also own Serie A side Roma and Ligue 1 club AS Cannes, and are in the process of launching an NHL franchise in Houston with a deal valued at around £2.65 billion.”
Juventus face Woltemade block
Juventus’ on-loan forward Nick Woltemade is enduring a tough time in Italy, and things may be getting more complicated.
The German struggled to impress in the Premier League with Newcastle United last season, but was taken on loan by Juve.
However, there is no way for Juventus to cancel the loan until the end of the season.
The Newcastle Chronicle writes: ”Chronicle Live understands that there is no get-out clause for Juventus and he can't simply be returned to Newcastle. Juve are already in a contractual situation with Newcastle where they must pay every penny of Woltemade's weekly wage, over £150,000 per week, until June.
”And while Juventus don't have an obligation to buy Woltemade, something which Newcastle are still open to, they are essentially lumbered with the ex-Stuttgart man until the end of the 2026/27 season.
”Woltemade's future at Newcastle, though, looks bleak with [Matthias] Jaissle's recruitment team assessing a range of strikers ahead of the next two windows.
”There was summer interest from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, while a clutch of clubs in Turkey, including Galatasaray, also took a look at Woltemade.”
McTominay linked with Napoli exit
The Daily Star reports that Scott McTominay could be interested in leaving Napoli.
If he leaves, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Aston Villa are all potential destinations.
The paper notes: ”Scott McTominay is being linked with a sensational return to United, two years on from his exit from the club. The Scotland international has found major success at Napoli, winning the Serie A title and becoming a key player for the Italian outfit.
”Real Madrid and Aston Villa have also registered interest.
”Reports in Italy state that the midfielder has instructed his agents to try and negotiate a new deal with Napoli but he is ‘open’ to the idea of returning to England.
”If an agreement cannot be reached regarding a new contract with the Serie A side, then McTominay may decide to leave in just a few months' time.”
